OPTI 2017 IN MUNICH

A RETROSPECTIVE

OPTI 2017 was quite the hustle - a fantastic hustle, to be precise. What didn't we do at the show? We teamed up with great vintage collectors to realize the 'vintage passion', we set up a professional photo shoot for the issue #20 and we've invited some opticians to get their picture taken for the great optician lottery. Last but not least we shook a leg with CAZAL.

Dear opti 2017, you’ve been awesome! – Honestly, the show couldn’t have been better nor busier nor funnier.
As we were located in 2 different places (C1 & C4), we had quite the workout everyday rushing from one booth to the other. In C1, we set up our portable photo studio and the ‘Vintage Passion’. Having Dennis and Christian Metzler, Lee Yule, Matti Piipponen, Siegfried Schlögl, Gregoir Vuilleumier and Alexander Dosiehn around – who were showing their greatest pieces of vintage eyewear to the visitors – was quite the fun factor.
And as the saying goes, sometimes joy and work go hand in hand, which definitely was the case at opti. We – Stefan, our digital assistant Caro, the hair&make-up artist Mariathe stylist Julia, our 3 great models Anna, Filiz and Maria and myself had quite a good time when we realized our photo shoot for the upcoming issue. Speaking of photos: in C4 we installed a little photo gallery of the current issue – all modified regarding the #19 theme ‘mirror’.
The following days, several cheerful opticians stepped in front of Stefan’s camera  – earlier that week, they had won the first round of the optician photo shoot contest – and now, entered the second round with their picture taken. You haven’t voted for one of them yet? You can cast your vote here.
Well, and of course, we had quite the Sunday Funday Night. Oh boy, that was a night! Together with CAZAL, we had invited to the Fabulous Frame Night. Lot’s of great people coming together, awesome music, some great dance acts and a fabulous atmosphere. Who needs sleep if he/she can have a good party instead? I mean, we’ve invented coffee and Red Bull – that will do!
Obviously, opti 2017 has been quite the show – and we’ve already saved the date for opti 2018. I hope, you did too – because we can’t wait to see you all again in Munich!

A.S.
