The Italian luxury label celebrates its 100th anniversary in style with an exclusive collection including limited edition camouflage shades
When it comes to luxury items with an eye for style and timeless elegance, the name Trussardi is in a league of its own. The Italian luxury label has not only secured a lead in the top-shelf category, it has become synonymous with this segment.
Founded in 1911 as a manufacturer of high-grade leather goods for men and women, the exclusive brand has endured throughout a turbulent company history. At many instances, Trussadi had to reinvent its brand and offering, for example by adapting the now iconic Greyhound logo in 1973. The constant drive for progress and innovation was supported by a commitment to timeless elegance in style and presentation. Above all, Trussardi has continued to strive for utmost quality and perfection in all endeavors.
Today, the company’s founding year of 1911 is the namesake of the most exclusive collection in the current Trussardi line-up: The Capsule Collection combines luxurious, classic styles with contemporary details and materials. All pieces are manufactured in Japan and Germany, using only the most advanced ingredients and manufacturing processes. The collection blends high-grade acetate metal with brushed titanium and genuine leather into spectacular finishes. Many of the metal components are coated with gold or silver, and polished by hand. All sunshades of the Capsule Collection feature the exclusive “Trussardi dal 1911” anniversary logo printed on the lenses and engraved into the acetate temple tips.
Just in time for the 100th anniversary, Trussardi released a limited edition version of the TD15901S aviator shades in the brand’s signature 1911 camouflage look. The sophisticated aviator shades feature metal-acetate “sandwich” frames; the front consists of a metal frame topped with a layer of acetate that wraps around the backside of the lenses. This interesting blend of materials also extends into the temples, held by almost invisible double-action spring hinges for lasting comfort.
The real eye catchers on these anniversary shades are the lenses, featuring the unique, one-of-a-kind camouflage pattern. Hand-made and certified by Carl Zeiss Vision Sunlens in Germany, these lenses are in-line with the highest quality standards in lens technology. Only 750 pieces of the TD15901S were produced, each replete with an individual serial number engraved on the inside of the temple – and a €750 price tag. Available in select concept stores around the world.
