As a fashion photographer, you’re always on the lookout for new trends. This year, the international fashion runways for Spring/Summer 2013 collections were bustling with coats, jackets and dresses made from transparent PVC-materials, as well as transparent fabrics and also heels crafted from Plexiglas. When the publishers sent me this pair of LINDBERG glasses, it instantly struck me as the perfect match for this see-through look! In close cooperation with stylist Claudia Melzer, I imagined the best way to showcase this beautiful frame in a photo shoot. I knew we needed a classic-looking face, lending the right emphasis to the 1950s cat eye glasses – a dash of vintage Hollywood charms in the mode of Grace Kelly – but a bit more “of the moment.” Our model Berenika was the perfect protagonist, and her stunning frame proved a great fit for the adorable pieces designed by the team at Ashirov Martic. And since the whole see-through thing can get a little hot, we decided to cool it down a bit by adding dry ice.
