Jean-François Rey Introduces WAVE
The WAVE frames from Jean-François REY are the result of important technical and visual research. They have a fluid and light design, as if they were in movement. The modern and graphic style of the fronts is obtained by folding and colouring thin strips of stainless steel ribbons, which criss-cross and are fixed to the lug on semi-rimless frames equipped with spring hinges.
Jean-François Rey understands how to distinguish the volumes and forms. His know is such that he creates frames with a simple design in appearance, but which hide an exceptional technicality and inventiveness of the use of metal. Always very talented when it comes to exploring new creative ways, the French designer continues his research on coloured metal and launches the WAVE concept: 3 semi-rimless stainless steel shapes, impressive balance, technicality and creativity. Inspired by the urban effervescence and the architectural culture, the designer cultivates the codes of contemporary design: a fascinating game where the thin lines of metal fold, intercross, superimpose and vibrate on the front in a lightweight and airy structure.
The style of the collection is driven by the architectural geometry of the top, which is the focus of attention and attracts attention. Each stainless steel piece is folded and coloured separately, by hand, in a precise, clean, and efficient technical manner. The choice of colours has an essential role as well: pure and luminous so as to sublimate the graphic aesthetics of the frames. Design and colours harmonize in an elegant minimalist spirit and give the collection its singular visual strength, a unique character. More than an optical frame, Jean-François Rey lets art interact with harmony and intelligence.
