The 1990s are back – not just in the fashion business, but literally everywhere! Brands in the eyewear segment are paying tribute to the Naughty Nineties with designs and special collections, even brands who are technically too young to have even been born in the Nineties. Others are more authentic, including true 1990s offspring IC! BERLIN: Their new Reflection capsule collection celebrates the spirit of the decade in which it invented frames crafted from lightweight steel sheet. In a collection marked by #retrometro and lightweight frames, the German label revisits three classic sun shapes: Inspired by 90s Berlin club and youth culture, the »Neon«, »Prism« and »Laser« feature minimalistic shapes and vibrant colors.
But simple nostalgia and bringing back classic shapes would be too one-dimensional for IC! BERLIN. That’s why the new models are re-imaged for the here and now – and beyond. The design-driven label is not only looking back in time for 20 years, they also interpret the styles with the future in mind. As the gorgeous campaign visuals demonstrate, the Reflection Collection would also look right at home in the year 2050.
One of the biggest reasons for their future-forward appeal is of course IC! BERLIN’s signature screwless hinge. Plus, the colors are also on point: Aside from basic colorways such as black and chrome, wearers can choose from eye-catchers like Ultra Blue, Acid Yellowand Ash, complemented by equally striking lens colors such as Black Mirrored, Quicksilver and Redrum.
