For its 80th anniversary, German eyewear brand FLAIR presents a selection of new models that reflect the qualities that have shaped its design language for decades: precision, individuality and a thoughtful approach to materials. Rather than relying on obvious statements, the collection focuses on refined details, carefully considered constructions and the interplay of colour, texture and light.
The Art Couture 9148 and 9149 bring a sense of modern luxury to the collection, combining decorative elements with finely balanced lacquer inlays. The 9150 and 9151, meanwhile, take a more timeless approach, pairing delicate engravings and subtle colour accents with the characteristic qualities of titanium.
Several models draw inspiration from the Art Deco era. The 2021 combines high-gloss details with hand-coloured, silky-matt surfaces, while the 2023 and 1504 feature sculptural decorative elements designed to create an expressive interplay of light and shadow. The minimalist temples of these models allow the decorative details to take centre stage.
Elsewhere, FLAIR explores the relationship between colour and lightweight construction. The flowing ß-titanium design of the 2022 is complemented by hand-coloured accents around the eye rim, while subtle colour gradients lend the 5100 an understated sense of elegance. The 4007 takes a similarly reduced approach, balancing an expressive lens shape with minimalist temples for a light and versatile silhouette.
The collection also looks towards the future with the 2504, part of FLAIR’s 3D-printed 2500 series. Its exceptionally fine printed front is paired with forged titanium temples, demonstrating how contemporary manufacturing can be integrated into the brand’s established design language.
Across the new models, FLAIR’s 80-year heritage meets a distinctly contemporary perspective. From hand-finished decorative details to advanced production techniques, the collection shows how innovation can remain subtle – expressed through the materials, craftsmanship and individuality of each frame.
