KIRK & KIRK // INTRODUCING NEW RELEASES 2019
With the biggest optical trade show of the year behind us, Kirk & Kirk treated the Silmo-Show in Paris as the place to launch their new releases. This year the British Kirk family celebrate 100 years in optics since Sidney and Percy Kirk opened their first London workshop in 1919. Three generations later, inspired by their heritage and twenty years of passion for eyewear, Jason and Karen Kirk launched Kirk & Kirk. As well as designing the Kirk & Kirk collections, the duo are key influencers within the industry, often commentating on trends, techniques and the future of the industry.
Kirk & Kirk is designed in England and handmade in France using specially developed acrylic with a combination of traditional and modern production techniques. Here is what they had brought to France two weeks ago…
NEW ADDITIONS TO THE KALEIDOSCOPE COLLECTION
Silmo 2019 saw the launch of two new colours to the Kaleidoscope collection. Blues and mauves have always been a favourite colour for Kirk & Kirk fans, which is why this release was the logical continuation to an already successful range.
Marine – a Mediterranean summer sea, is captured in this unique Italian acrylic created by Kirk & Kirk. Centena sees three additions to the collection: Stanley, Ella and Miriam – all named after members of the Kirk family in celebration of 100 years in optics. This Italian material allow Kirk & Kirk to source their own unique colours and gives the frame
a jewel-like quality. The lightness of the material allows for a substantial frame that is super light to wear.
