KunoQvist FW 2017 or when Art Deco meets Bauhaus

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”33982″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]KunoQvist is a Swedish eyewear brand that consistently works with a classic Scandinavia design combined with exciting details and deliberately chosen colours. They produce high quality frames for people who enjoy expressing their personality and see their glasses as a part of their identity.

This fall/winter collection from KunoQvist is inspired by the opposite design traditions from the last century, Art Deco and Bauhaus. The frames are characterised by exquisite craftsmanship, rich colours and patterns that make each model unique. The model that stands out this year is Järnsaxa, a round model with a less is more design inspired by the Bauhaus movement. Another more characteristic, yet startling model is Lillklippe, with oriental flower patterns in the light weight metal frames.

The whole collection consists of around 15 different frames, for men and women, in 5 main colours: army green, celadon green, dark chestnut, dusty rose and auburn.

“This fall we choose to work with rather subdued, yet contrasting colours”, explains Martin Clausson, KunoQvist´s Swedish/Danish designer. “Coloured surfaces made of steel are matt and will not reflect so much of the surrounding light. Instead they will capture the carriers own colours, the different shades of the iris, cheekbones, strains of hair, nude lips or the clothes you wear”.

The photoshoot for this collection took place in the botanical garden in Lund, with a lot of rare plants and 90% humidity. It’s a place where light moves quickly and where the photographer, Johan Sundell, had to be quick in finding the right angles to shoot from. Model for this season is the cool Swedish jazz singer Viktoria Tolstoy who embodies the brand very well with her strong character, her great sense of humour and a fine artistic sensitivity.
