Celebrated eyewear designer, Blake Kuwahara, debuted a limited edition capsule collection, Blake Kuwahara Personal in Milan, Italy at MIDO followed by a presentation at The Loft NYC in New York.
“I wanted to make a very personal statement with this collection. These are all styles that would be in my personal eyewear wardrobe and complement the clothes I wear and fit into my own aesthetic sensibility. I wanted to incorporate the Japanese design philosophy of “wabi sabi” (irregularities enhance and create the beauty of an object) but in a quiet and refined way. The frames in this collection are all textured by hand using brushes and drills. It’s these subtle details that are very time consuming to achieve but to me are very important.”
Only 100 sets of this limited edition collection of three styles in two colorways each are available worldwide. The Blake Kuwahara Personal Collection comes with a custom designed wooden presentation tray.
