Minamoto means “origin” in Japanese, and that’s exactly where this new eyewear brand goes back to. To its Japanese roots. To the origin. The Minamoto brand is all about authenticity, craftsmanship, comfort, high quality, sophistication, attention to detail and beautiful design. Inspired by Zen philosophy and Japanese eyewear history, Minamoto frames are minimalist and timeless. The focus is simply on what’s essential.
Focus on what’s essential
All Minamoto eyewear is made from 99.4% pure Japanese titanium. This is the highest quality available in the world. The temples are made of beta titanium for optimum flexibility and comfort. Even the nose pads and temple ends are made of titanium, making these glasses a truly durable product.
Minamoto frames are for lovers of beautiful things with meaningful history, regardless of age or gender. The first Minamoto collection consists of 12 models. 4 women’s, 4 men’s and 4 unisex models. The names of the frames are inspired by characters, actors and actresses and the director of the famous Japanese film “The Seven Samurai”, which was also a great inspiration for the campaign. This film is a true original and at the same time a masterpiece of Japanese craftsmanship.
Timeless design made in Japan
Every pair of Minamoto glasses is an original. Designed in Japan, elaborately made from Japanese titanium, the collection is made to last. Creating timeless Japanese design with the best craftsmanship there is, Minamoto want to put out something long lasting: a true original. For all those who seek to go their own way.
WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR ORIGIN, YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO.
Special and unique, inside and out
The foldable case is made of washi paper by a small family business in the Japanese town of Fukui. Here, the tradition of washi paper making has been kept alive for over 1,500 years. The special pattern that can be seen on the paper is called “Sumi-Nagashi” and is applied by hand with Japanese ink and a calligraphy brush. Each pattern, and therefore each case, is unique.
FOR ALL THOSE WHO LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE WITH AN EYE FOR DETAILS.
