McQueen’s Favourite Persol
Our story begins with Steve McQueen entering the set of the movie “The Thomas Crown Affair.” He’s wearing his favourite PERSOL – the PO 714 – a style immortalized by the movie. Now PERSOL is bringing back the legendary actor’s favorite model with a re-release: The PO 714 is making a comeback in a limited edition of 10,000 handmade pieces, available worldwide.
But make no mistake, the re-release is more than just a remake of the classic. The lenses are back in a blue shade, just like Steve McQueen preferred. The glasses now features hinges for easily folding and stowing them. The hinges on the temples are now adorned with PERSOL’s signature arrow artwork.
These acetate sunglasses are available in three different colors with lenses crafted from siliceous earth: Light Havana with blue lenses – as worn by McQueen himself, Havana with honey-colored lenses and black with gray smoke-tinted lenses. The PO 714 remains a timelessly elegant model despite the added metal hinges; and is now easier to store than ever.
