The Austrian eyewear label Robert La Roche is offering a taste of summer with the introduction of two new nostalgia-laden frames.
Evocative of golden era glamour, Romy and Robert are the latest entry into the house’s catalog of sophisticated models that hark back to historical fashion moments. Available in iconic colorways, ranging from black, olive and sage to variations of tortoiseshell, the new pair of frames sparks the desire to drive along the French Riviera in a 1970s convertible. The exalted vehicular design of a vintage Porsche Targa is mirrored in the cutout adorning Robert’s bridge, whose lightly tinted acetate lamination mimics the car’s curved windshield.
Romy, on the other hand, is effortlessly understated, much like its namesake – doe-eyed cinema legend Romy Schneider. The almond-shaped frame, which accentuates the cheekbone, is the epitome of chic. Both models are handcrafted from highest-grade acetate and feature category 3 lenses for ultimate UVA/UVB protection. When high end technology meets retro chic, the result is sexy and takes us one step closer to Summer. Well done!
