The Spirit of Individualists and Revolutionaries

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus Design College, Metropolitan Eyewear was inspired by the timeless aesthetics and clear design of Marcel Breuer’s iconic “Wassily Chair”. This August, the brand is launching a special edition dubbed “Inspired by Bauhaus” – consisting of four eyewear models and two pairs of sunglasses.

Breuer’s simple tubular steel design is reflected in fine round profiles, while opaque lacquered surfaces take up the characteristic look of the leather elements. Reduced to the essential, the result is a straightforward style of unadorned, geometric forms that fully reflects the Bauhaus philosophy. Partly refined nylon constructions and a clear colour concept in pastel shades make the new models absolute design highlights for city hoppers.
